Valuing diversity and inclusion is not only a business imperative, it is often a medical imperative. Here are just a few of the solutions we’ve developed to meet the growing needs of an increasingly diverse culture.

More than 75,000 diverse employees serve our customers in 33 countries.

44.5% of our Mid and Senior Level Executives are Women.

In 2007, our supplier diversity expenditures exceeded $130 million with more than $70 million in woman-owned businesses.

Through the United Health Foundation we spent more than $16.8 million in local communities.

UnitedHealth Group employees gave more than $9 million to local charities in 2007.

We provide more than 1.6 million Latinos access to a virtual network of Spanish-speaking physicians, facilities and plans.

Latino Health Solutions provides bilingual materials that address health issues of the Hispanic/Latino community, including healthy lifestyle.

Our Chinese customer phone service includes native-speaking representatives as well as a dedicated Asian website, UHCAsian.com.

A partnership of UnitedHealthcare and African American leaders is the first time a health company included the black medical community in product design.

Small African American-owned businesses grew 45%. More than four times the national rate for small businesses.

We identify opportunities for minority-owned businesses, women, small, veteran and businesses in Historically Underutilized Business Zones.

With state and local government agencies, minority business groups and advocacy organizations we identify suppliers and sourcing.
